Esophagus \E*soph"a*gus\, n. [NL., fr. Gr. o'isofa`gos; root of o'i`sw which is used as future of fe`rein to bear, carry (cf. Skr. v[imac] to go, drive) + fagei^n to eat.] (Anat.)
