foreigner, not of Saxon origin, a Welshman, a Celt, Gael;
akin to OHG. walh, whence G. w[aum]lsch or welsch, Celtic,
Welsh, Italian, French, Foreign, strange, OHG. walhisc; from
the name of a Celtic tribe. See Walnut.]
