Loach \Loach\ (l[=o]ch), n. [OE. loche, F. loche.] (Zool.) Any one of several small, fresh-water, cyprinoid fishes of the genera Cobitis, Nemachilus, and allied genera, having six or more barbules around the mouth. They are found in Europe and Asia.
