Toran \To"ran\, Torana \To"ra*na\, n. [Skr. t[=o]ra[.n]a an arch, a gate.] (Indian Arch.) A gateway, commonly of wood, but sometimes of stone, consisting of two upright pillars carrying one to three transverse lintels.
