oenanthylic \oe`nan*thyl"ic\, a. (Chem.) Pertaining to, derived from, or containing, oenanthyl; specifically, designating an acid formerly supposed to be identical with the acid in oenanthic ether, but now known to be identical with heptanoic acid.
